Facebook, the social networking giants has launch its new features ‘Group chat and Video chat’, which will be made available to the Facebook users. This new video chat feature is a connection of Facebook with its longtime partner ‘Skype’. Facebook has promised its user to introduce more features in the next couple of months.

The Group chat feature is user-friendly. User just have to open a chat box with any friend and click on ‘Add Friend to Chat’ icon to add other friends. Now user can chat with multiple friends at a time.

The Video chat feature is also much easier to use. It is completely built on Facebook’s chat platform. User have to click the video call button, that will be available on the top of the chat window. Video communication starts once the recipient accepts the invitation.

“If the recipient does not have plug-in required for Video chat, then the recipient will see a pop-up to download the plug-in. This download will take 10 or 20 seconds” said the Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, during the preview of this new application. He also said that Facebook and Skype has mainly focused to provide the user with the easiest way to get connected with video call as well as group chat.

With introduction of such features, can Facebook stop its users from defecting to Google+?
